The color of the year for 2017 has officially been announced! This announcement is very highly anticipated by designers, artists and more. Drum roll please….The color of the year for 2017 is PANTONE 15-0343, Greenery.

Introducing Greenery

According to the  PANTONE Color Institute, “Greenery is a refreshing and revitalizing shade, and is symbolic of new beginnings. It’s a fresh and zesty yellow-green shade that evokes the first days of spring when nature’s greens revive, restore and renew. Illustrative of flourishing foliage and the lushness of the great outdoors, the fortifying attributes of Greenery signals consumers to take a deep breath, oxygenate and reinvigorate. A life-affirming shade, Greenery is also emblematic of the pursuit of personal passions and vitality.”

What is the PANTONE Color of the Year?

A symbolic color selection; a color snapshot of what we see taking place in our global culture that serves as an expression of a mood and an attitude.

The Color of the Year is determined by a select group of industry professionals that gather in Europe. The winning color is chosen as the one that captures the “spirit” of the year. Last year’s colors were “Rose Quartz and Serenity”.

Nature’s neutral PANTONE Greenery is a versatile shade that can be combined with many color combinations. As displayed in the 10 palettes below, Greenery can be paired with neutrals, brights, deeper shades, pastels, and metallics. In 2017 you will see these palettes cross over in the latest fashions, beauty products and more importantly to us in graphic design applications.
