For the first time in over 20 years, the FDA is making changes to the Nutrition Facts label for packaged foods. The updates are intended to make it easier for consumers to make better-informed food choices. Most notably, the update includes the addition of added sugars, Vitamin D, and potassium. Manufacturers will be required to use the new label as early as January, 2020 to comply.
